Set up at least one trusted recovery contact for your Apple Account.
What this setting does
A recovery contact can help you regain access to your Apple Account if you forget your password or device passcode, or otherwise become locked out. Your recovery contact can generate a recovery code that allows you to reset your Apple Account password, but they do not have access to your account or your iCloud data.
Important notes
Choose someone you know and trust who you can contact if you ever lose access to your account. You can add up to five recovery contacts.
A recovery contact must use a compatible Apple device and meet Apple's account-security requirements. If you use Advanced Data Protection, Apple requires an account recovery method such as a Recovery Contact or Recovery Key.
